Do you want to experience life in a castle? Push the St-James doors as it does well on all levels.

What an incredible experience that is to stay at the St-James! Their professional and kind customer service is what set the hotel apart from others (for instance, a welcome note and chocolates are offered upon arrival). The rooms are magnificent despite the lack of daylight – the St-James is a former bank which explains the darker and austere look of the building. The beds are ultra comfortable and the heating marble floor bathrooms are gigantic.

Tasty and refined cuisine at the XO Restaurant

In the magnificent decor of the former Banker’s Hall, a meal at XO is a true gastronomical experience. Breakfast and dinner are delicious as they feature select products, dainty preparation, and tasty results.

There is barely anything bad to say about the St-James expect that the small gym in the basement is not on par with the rest of the hotel (there are only two stationary bikes and a few weights). However, the afternoon tea is a must to relax after a busy day of exploration. Likewise, the massages offered at the spa under the vaults of the former bank are simply incredible.

In between downtown and the Old Montreal

Ideally located, at the edges of the modern and the old town of Montreal, the St-James is two steps away from the Convention Center, the underground city and halfway between Square Victoria and Place d’Armes metro station (line 2 – Orange).
